I understand your concern. Please check if you have any other security software installed in your computer that is conflicting with AVG. If it is, please remove the same and check if that fix the issue.

Dashboard says Protection is disabled and will be automatically enabled after restart. Restart does not work nor does clicking the "fix" button get rid if the message… All categories show protected.
