Hi I too face this problem. Repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled AVG, but the error still shows up.
Hello Leslie,
I understand your concern.
Please click on this link http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product to uninstall AVG completely from your computer.
This will remove all the old traces of AVG from your computer.
Please reinstall the latest version and check if that fix the issue.
If you face any difficulties, please send me the screenshot http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot of the error message. We will check the same and assist you further.
There is a white x on the icon and the screenshot of AVG says in red, that my computer protection is turned off. The basic protection and emails however show that I am protected. Confusing!
I have tried the FIX NOW button but this does nothing. I have tried 'AVG Repair' again nothing. I have uninstalled AVG and installed it again but the problem still persists.
I have gone to AVG troubleshooting but there is nowhere to turn the Computer Protection ON
I see that I have an old program 'AVG Protection' dated 16/03/17 so I tried to uninstall this but error message Oxe 001f90f comes up and I could not uninstall it.
I am using Vista Home Basic so I cannot send a screenshot.
can you help please?
Hello Joshua,
I understand the inconvenience.
To be sure, have you run both removal and clear tool to remove AVG traces?
Hi, yes I tried both and it solved the problem. Thanks for your help!
