I am very dissatisfied with how AVG intends to solve PuAgent-AZ [PUP] with CleanMyMac for me. You simply cannot get this file to be ignored or placed anywhere in the exception. It drives me crazy and every time I get an unclear answer from AVG. I see a lot of people have this problem. I WANT MY MONEY BACK or give a solution that actually works.
Louis
Hi there - I am having the exact same problem - except my AVG is Avast Business - which is remotely m,anaged by my IT department - I cannot add exceptions as they get ignored - what do you suggest?
Please explain step 5. In order to exclude CleanMyMac, which file or folder do I open? Is it the Application folder?
CMM was taken off the Appsteen list as of 9/30/2020. Why does AVG still block it?

Hello K K Leung.
We'd like to inform that this detection is correct and if you want to use CleanMyMac along with AVG, please add it to AVG exceptions list.
1. Click AVG AntiVirus or AVG Internet Security in the top-left corner of the menu bar, then select Preferences from the context menu.
2. Click the Exceptions tab, then select a shield in the left menu.
3. Click the lock in the bottom-left corner of the window, enter your system administrator credentials, then click OK to grant permission for the changes.
4. Click the + (plus) symbol at the bottom of the table.
5. Choose File Shield: Navigate to the file or folder you want to exclude, then click Open.
6. Add the CleanMyMac application to File shield exceptions.

I saw this issue was resolved but I still face this issue today. May I confirm if we can run CleanMyMac X wtih AVG now? If not, it is very inconvenient.
Thank you for providing the screenshot, Louis.
We could see that our technical team sent you an email an hour ago with the instructions on how to proceed further.
Could you check and confirm whether you have tried the steps provided in the recent email?

Please send that email to me also. I contacted MacPaw (CleanMyMac) and they said they have contacted you about fixing this. How can I get my software to work?

Hi Sam,
We would like to clarify that the PUP detection by AVG for CleanMyMac is legitimate.
The reason is they are marked as a deceptor by APPESTEEM. To know more about it, refer this link.
If you do not wish to see AVG showing PUP detection for CleanMyMac, then please add it to AVG's file shield exception.
Please refer this article and follow the steps as mentioned under "Set exceptions".
Thank you.
