Hello Chris,
We can understand your concern. May I know if you had tried installing our new version(2016) which prompts you enter your credentials prior to the installation. You can download the latest version of our AVG programs from http://www.avg.com/us-en/download .Thank you.
Hello Tobias,
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
As per our record, you have purchased the subscription for AVG Protection multi-device (1 year subscription) and it expires on 10/3/2017.
We request you to open the AVG Zen window and check whether the expiry notices is for Protection or for Performance?
On Zen interface you can find protection and performance circle.
On the protection you should have the PRO version of AVG Internet Security installed because you have purchased the subscription for it.
On the performance you will have the trial version of AVG PC tuneup installed, protection and performance are both different programs.
Please check for this and do let us know the status of it.
This is ridiculous. I am having this same issue with AVG Tune Up. My trial expired today, so I bought the monthly billing version of Tune Up. The program will not upgrade back to a paid version. I have use the AVG removal tool 3 times now, and reinstalled the Tune Up. It still will not validate. What's up with your system, and why will you only email the solutions to these people posting instead of actually posting what the solutions are? I need the Tune Up software for a program I run on my computer, and now I can't run it well tonight because the Tune Up software won't work. Thanks!

No - the program will install regardless of if you log in or not. The only way to log in prior to install is by clicking "custom install" below the install button and signing in there. The sign in option should prominent and presented before the option to install exists. This is just like the option to disable reporting of scan exceptions in the scan report. If I don't want you to scan a folder, then I don't want an alert that you couldn't scan it every time and I don't want to have to dig around to a hidden sub-section to disable that reporting. It's annoying. The program is good for the most part but I can think of many ways I'd improve it.
I think the key is to do "custom installation" then sign into your account before it starts installing anything. It worked for me. It's hard to believe this is such a widespread problem that they haven't fixed their authentication problems yet. It really is a nightmare to install this now.
Nothing happened. I used the AVG Remover Tool. Deleted it from the C drive. Installed AVG Protection. Tried logging off and on again. But it still says I've only 29 days. What did I pay for?
I'm not a computer expert, but since I'm automatically linked to the AVG site - why can't this be solved through a channel on your side? I used to have the regular Protection (which I actually bought just a week ago or so) but figured I needed the PRO edition of Protection (for more devices etc), but this has been a disaster. I have two subscription now (the old, regular one of Protetion which runs out 2017 and the new, from today, Protection PRO which runs out 2017). I ask of you to please come up with a way to solve this or⦠I guess I should start asking for my money back?
This happens on fresh installs as well. It is a serious problem with whatever you guys use for validation. I just had this very problem that I've had numerous times since I bought the product on a machine that I just installed Windows 7 onto. It might have something to do with a prior install in some instances but it is not the main problem. The problem is that I have to sign in PRIOR TO installation. Signing in after installation is pointless. Your validation system doesn't work in that situation. I probably won't be renewing when the time comes.
