Pushy salesperson

Hi

I called AVG to have my licence activated yesterday. I was connected with a USA cal centre although I am in the UK. The agent was extremely pushy claiming that my licence could not be activated until I bought another product at £100 which she reduced to £50 after placing me on hold for quite a while, something she did several times during the call. She also accessed my pc which I agreed to as I thought she was going to fix any problems but actually she did this to further convince me I needed more protection at more cost which is simply not true. Despite telling her again and again that I would not be spending any more money she persisted in her efforts to scare me into thinking that my pc was unsafe. Eventually I terminated the call after repeatedly asking for an e mail confirmation of what she had done on my pc along with her contact details. Unsurprisingly I have not received that e mail. More worryingly I am left wondering what she actually did on my pc, was she a legitimate AVG technician or was she a scammer who now has control of my pc. I am thoroughly concerned and lack all confidence in AVG which I am sure is not the intention. In fact I am so concerned that I am afraid to switch my laptop on again. I will never recommend AVG protection to family and friends after this experience.
