Hello Roy,
The reason for the ads is because, many of our users find these offers useful: they rely on them to upgrade to our higher levels of protection. By doing so, they help fund your free version of the protection.
We also handpick offers from our other products or those of partners we feel can add to your security or digital experience.
I assure you that, if you have paid version of AVG Antivirus/Internet Security, you will be able to disable the campaign popups appearing for other AVG products.
Open AVG Internet Security interface, click on "Menu–>Settings–>General–>Popups".
Uncheck the box that says "Show offers for other AVG products" and click Ok.
Well, I see from others in the community that they are not happy either. Folks, this company seems to be a joke. What they REALLY want is for you to get their "Free" AVG and then bombard you with ads to buy more products. If you started with a paid for product from them, it does not do the job. Prove me wrong, AVG. Prove me wrong.
