Hi,
If you see my earlier message you will see that I thought that I had already made a submission to Report malicious sample
Did you not receive this submission?
Kind Regards,
Wayne
Hi,
I have found the place in AVG menu which allows me to send the file from the acctual software rather than via the forum. Hopefully, this has now reached your team.
Kind Regards,
Wayne
Hi,
I have not yet seen a threat pop-up notification copncerning this file. Nothing ever appeared whilst I was web browsing and I only became aware of this file after it had been placed in quarantine. Can you please let me know how I can generate a threat pop-up notification so that I can click "details" to find the path of the file which you wish me to submit?
Kind Regards,
Wayne
Hi Dinesh,
The path shown in the "bubble" when I hovered over the file in quarantine is as shown in the image that I sent earlier and I will again attach to this message. Not sure if this advances anything.
Kind Regards,
Wayne
Hi,
Thanks for your reply but I need your help as to how to get to “See details”. This threat was only detected after running a scan and now resides in quarantine and no pop-ups occurred whilst using my browser. I have a scan report if that is of any use. Right or left clicking on the file in quarantine does seem to present me with any menu to choose from.
Hoping you can help,
Wayne
Hi,
My last scan put the "Teardrop-Peardrop Pull Handles\Teardrop Pull Handle - Antique Brass (Each).url [L] INI:Shortcut-inf [Trj] (0)" file into quarantine. I can find nothing about this file on the web. Does anyone know the threat it represents?
Thanks,
Wayne

Thank you for updating the status, Wayne.
Submitting the file from the program will send the file to our concerned team but the file will not be associated with your email address.
Hence, as our concerned team have requested, please submit the file using this link.
Submitting the false-positive report using that link will send the file (will be registered under your account) to our concerned team directly.
Thank you for understanding in advance!
Hello Wayne,
Thank you for sharing the path. As we need to check what exact happening in quarantine and AVG program settings, kindly follow our previous email to reach our remote support team. They will check the PC and clarify the file right away. Thank you.
Hi,
Thank you for your kind offer but with "the problem" being in quarantine I see no need to add unnecessarily to the burden of your technical staff. As far as I am concerned we have now reached the end of this thread.
Kind Regards,
Wayne
Hi,
I have followed the path that I found but before reaching the end of the path I reached "empty folder". It would seem that the path revealed in "quarantine" does not lead to a file! No idea what is going on.
Kind Regards,
Wayne
Hi,
I have sent the scan report from 02/04/22 as a .jpg to both your “false positive” and your “malicious sample” options @ Report malicious sample (https://www.avg.com/en-ww/report-malicious-file" style="color:blue; text-decoration:underline" target="_blank)
Kind Regards,
Wayne
Hi,
I have, as mentioned before, been to your link but I have no idea as to how to choose the file for you. What path e.g C:\Program Files\AVG\Antivirus do I need to follow when locating the file that you want?
Help!
Wayne
