Windows 10 virus protection will not detect. They claim they are working on it.
Add/Remove (then reboot) will not remove it, there is nothing to add/remove.
A Known Problem:
You should always pay attention when installing software because often, a software installer includes optional installs, such as this Maps and Driving Direction New Tab Search browser hijacker. Be very careful what you agree to install.
The FIRST thing to do is to open Chrome menu - More Tools - Extensions - remove Maps and reboot.
this will slow down the frequency of the pop-ups but will not remove the threat.
CHROME menu - settings - (bottom) Cleanup is worthless.
Beware: many of the tips to remove this including Microsoft "answers" are people that make money selling links to malware detection software. They did an excellent job of populating google searches for the "answer". Some of these stites ask if they can log onto your PC. Beware
To learn how truly dangerous of a threat this trojan is:

It appears to have evolved since this article was written.
Maybe AVG will have a solution soon.
According to some articles, stopping the Pop-UP doesn not stop the virus activity.
