Ramsomware Protection

How will this affect the Licence I have paid for? Will I still have to buy it and get a new product key for it or will it allow me to use the Licence/Key I already have?

I don't want to pay for a whole new program whilst I still hold a current licence for the older version. I would have thought that AVG should have updated the version I get each year when I pay for my subsciption.

MAYBE!!

I am wondering why there has been no auto update for the Ransomware protection for the product I paid for (AVG Internet Security). How do I see that it has been updated or not?

How to get it

If you’re already an AVG Internet Security user, you’ll have received the Ransomware Protection feature as an automatic update.

I SHOULD HAVE IT!!

I already have AVG Internet Security and don't seem to have any automatic update which included this Ramsomware protection as describes in the AVG advertisement.

If I log out then this is what I get …should I still log out? And if I do, will I see the screen to reactivated using my own licence number?

Hello Marcus,

Thank you for providing the screenshot. I see ffrom the screenshot that you have older version of AVG Internet Security installed. Please uninstall(http://avgclick.me/UninstallAVGAV) this older version of AVG from your computer and install the latest version from this link: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-Protection. Once you install the latest version, you will be able to see the "Ramsomware Protection" in AVG Internet Security. If you face any difficulties, feel free to contact us.

The Licence I hold for the older version expires on  Friday June 29th 2018.

If I uninstall the older version and download then install the newer verison will I have to pay again? ..OR will I just enter the Licence Number of the older version which is currently paid for?

You are most welcome, Marc.
I am glad to know that you are able to activate the Internet Security using the license that you have purchased.
Have a wonderful day!!!

Hello Marc,

I can understand your concern. Please send us the screenshot(http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) of the AVG Internet Security version installed in your computer, so I can check the same and assist you further in updating your AVG program to include ransomware protection.

Ok ..so it's installed and all works fine. There is a screen shot I took and I want to know what it means  about expiring ...what will exprire? I can't see what that is. Also, where I have to put in the Licence Number?...I logged in when it started up so didn't see a button antwhere to activate using my licence number.
