Could you check the version of the AVG installed in your PC?
AVG >> Menu >> Settings >> General >> Update

Twice in the last week I have noticed Ransomware protection was turned off ands had to turn it back on.
What's up with that?

Kindly update the AVG to the latest version (20.7)
AVG >> Menu >> Settings >> General >> Update

Restart the PC and check if the issue persists.
