It is indeed disappointing when you have to do multiple attempts about the same issue but I’ll find the quickest way to get this resolved for you at the earliest. Just follow the instructions below.
I request you to run AVG remover tool based on your OS (32-bit or 64-bit) to completely remove AVG and then re install. To determine whether your OS is a 32-bit or 64-bit, please click on this link. http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218

Thank you.
Recently something happened with my laptop for which it had to go back to the factory in Madrid. Unfortunately between the factory and the shop it was "lost". I was given a new laptop, but ofcourse I lost all information stored in my old one. I also lost the installed avg protection (the remaining 6 months out of 2 yrs paid for) However I went to the Avg-support page and found out that I could re-install. I still had the code. Now 2 days later after trying everything (incl. blocking the antivirus that came with the laptop) I could think of I still have not got it re-installed!!! I must havetried more than 20 times and it's beginning "P" me off!!! Can someone please help???
I received your email and tried what you suggested…it didn't work!!! Why would it? "Avg removal program won't achieve anything if AvgInternet Security has never been installed on this laptop!!! It is brand new, given to replace my old one that was "mislaid" whilst in the factory (lenovo-madrid) due to a fault. I have been trying all day and part of yesterday to re-install "avg internet security" which I purchased for 2 years and still have 6 months to go. The support form on avg's web-site does not function- when you arrive at the last "connect" the "loading symbol comes on the screen and goes no further. When clicked on phone option you are asked to leave a contact phone number, but there is no room to write it down. The UK number that comes up has a very high charge when rung. Why should I be paying for this call. The whole web-site is not user friendly at all. Last year I purchased "PC Tune-up" which would not install either and for which I got a refund. I'm beginning to think that it may have been a mistake to become a client of AVG and would like to receive what I paid for or a refund for the six months I seem to have lost.
