How do I get all my bookmarks back? Had a lot that were very important to my work, please help
Sorry to say, I think they’re gone unless if you saved the file somewhere or had a backup. Check you backup files.
Why would they be gone because of a new browser install? The browser exe file was reinstalled, but the data files should still be in tact. It seems to be logic that on a new install of the AVG browser, that new install should be looking in the same place for the bookmarks and open tabs as prior. My data files were not moved, so the new browser should be looking in the same place for that info, but that is not the case. Why is the new AVG install not connecting with the same data files that are in the same location as the prior AVG browser was looking and connecting?
If I paint my kitchen cabinets, the potato chips should still be on the same shelf as they were prior to the cabinets being painted.
When I reinstalled the AVG browser, the data files are in the same place, so why isn’t the new AVG install finding them?
What am I missing?
A new install implies more than just replacing the *.exe file but we don’t know what was done prior to the reinstall. To continue the potato chip analogy, it seems like not only did you paint the cabinets but you were placed them.
