This issue might have caused due an activation error. It is safe to reinstall AVG.

Activate the product using the license number which can be found in your AVG MyAccount.
May AVG Anti-Virus said I need to re-new it at the end of this month yet my anti-virus does not expire until Feb 2019 so I uninstalled it…I believe it was infected with a virus…would in now be safe to re-install it…and how can I do this.
