Re payment taken

Regarding my original post & the subsequent reply, I have taken the advice and contacted support UK. First email they said they could not find my account (not a good start) and then a follow up email asked me to send details of the transaction. I had already copied just the 2 relevant transactions from my bank account and also gave other the details. But then i was told AVG required a screenshot of my bank statement!!  I was also asked by UK support if i paid in euros or £?  And what type of debit card, which again i had told them in my previous email.
This is hard work but I am sure we will get there in the end!!  Must keep positive.

Hello Dee,

I am sorry to hear that. I request you to contact our sales support team using this link https://support.avg.com/support_sales?l=en_US to assist you better.

If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.

Well still not sorted as a screenshot does not provide the details required.  My bank statement does not show all of the following AVG require:

Card holder's name
Transaction date
Paid amount and currency
Card brand (e.g. VISA, Mastercard, Amex)
Last 4 digits of the card number used for payment

So I am told if your bank statement does not include this information, then please provide this in your response.  I did provide this…and received another email asking for a screenshot.  I am seriously beginning to worry about this Company who cannot even find my account, let alone explain why two payments of £46.99 have been taken consecutively in May this year.

I have just trawled through my bank account and found that AVG have taken two payments of £46.99 from my account subsequently on May 2nd and 3rd 2017.
This is not for my subscription for security & tune up as that has already been taken. And the payment for AVG Go was taken in 2016 and was a one off.
I would like to find out what this payment is for.
Thank you.

After years of using AVG, I am convinced it is a scam in and of itself.  The comments prove this.  Charges for services not provided, interference with important apps such as the seemingly ever present "threat detected!".  I'm suffering from shell game fatigue and the persistent alarm siggesting yet another purchase of some app of dubious value.  I'm so done with this.  The Federal Trade Commission will be consulted.  Oh, and my bank freaking out whenever AVG tries to charge my card because their analytics have identified Cyprus as a suspect nation re bank transactions.
