Hello. Thank you for your response. My repaired AVG following the instructions you linked. However there were no updates available after repairing, but I had updated AVG just before repairing it.
However, now I have another problem. My memory is being consumed by some hidden process. After much time spent diagnosing the problem, I have found that the "avgMonFlt.sys" driver, which I believe is part of AVG Free Antivirus, is using 7.2 gb of Paged Pool memory. This didn't start happening until after I updated AVG and then repaired it. I'm attempt to solve this problem now.
Hello Stewart,
I understand the inconvenience caused, let's work together to fix this issue.
In this case, I request you to repair AVG Protection (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-repair-AVG), update (open AVG Free Antivirus > menu > settings > update) it one more time and reboot your computer once. After reboot, please check if your AVG real time protection is working.
If the issue still persists, then please share a screenshot of the AVG User Interface (which shows disabled real time protection) to assist you further. You can post the screenshot here on your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Best regards,
Alok.
Every time my computer boots I have to re-enable real-time protection for AVG AntiVirus Free on Windows 10.
Stewart,
I couldn't open the screenshot that you uploaded here. Can you please reattach the required screenshot and also AVG Interface to escalate the case?
