Please check if you can connect to VPN when AVG protection is disabled.

Hi there
For work I need to connect to a VPN and to do so I need to pass an EPA check. To pass this I need to have real time protection enabled. I have the premium version of AVG for Mac but I keep failing the EPA check because "None of the Antivirus has real time protection". Please advise how I might be able to turn this on or if I need to switch to another provider?
