Hi Arlin,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused due to the false detection. We suggest you to put all the .exe files in a folder and add that folder to exceptions : http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-make-exclusions-from-all-scans-and-shields. Also, try adding Steam to exceptions and check the issue.
Thank you!

I think I've about had it, and wanted to come to the forums for advice. Firstly, anyone know when or why AVG update to become Malware trying to remove Malware? My problem started a couple of days ago. I tried launching a game through Steam, with which AVG promptly popped up stating it was behaving erratically, or whatever the hell the message was. So I was like, alright, this is the program I have just tried to launch, maybe AVG had a new definition update and that this one wasn't recognized… Click ignore thinking yep, I'm smarter then your average stick, and recognize this program and it is safe… boom, AVG, without prompting me that it did anything to it, proceeds to quarantine the .exe. 15 minutes F'ing around trying to find out why Steam just repeats itself "Launching Dungeons 2" and I finally discover that AVG grabbed it and put it in quarantine. Long story short, I put the install folder in the exceptions box, and it works. Decide I'm gonna play a different game and attempt to launch from Steam… deja vu.

My question is, short of putting every program on my computer into the exceptions folder, is there some way to tell AVG to go to hell and just scan for viruses when I ask it too, and stop trying to monitor every single click I make with my mouse? Every program I attempt to launch on my computer is apparently "Malware", and is promptly blocked by the only true malicious software on my PC… that being AVG.

tl;dr… AVG has become malware trying to block malware, is there a way to just have AVG antivirus and AVG TuneUp (I f'ing hate that TuneUp utilities ended up with this shit-show of a company) and get rid of all these funny business bullshit AVG addons stopping every program I try to open from getting block, or do I just add my whole hard drive to the exceptions folder?
