From your description, it seems that you're receiving the expiry notification from AVG Internet Security.
Please share us the screenshot of the notification that you receive for better clarity.

Here is a screen shot of what we are seeing.  Why would the FREE version expire?

For several weeks AVG has been showing the "You're Protected" screen about every 4 -5 hours, with no reason given.  I have this program on all PC's in my home, and some are saying that our prescription is about to expire, which makes no sense since we use the FREE edition.  How can I get it to stop doing these things?
