Red error message 'you are unprotected'

Hello Craig,

I understand this must be upsetting. Please repair AVG Internet security http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-repair-AVG from the control panel, restart your PC and then check the status.
I'm having the same issue.  I follow those instructions and then get another "Error Code":  0xe001f94e

I also notice that there appear to be two AVG programs on my computer.  One is dated 5/21/2018 (version 2016.151.8013); and the other is dated 8/12/2018 (version 16.161.8048).

When I try to repair them... both give the same error code message.  Can you help walk me through this one?  I generally don't have any issues with AVG and this one has me stumped.

I am getting a message in red saying my computer is not protected and fix now button.  However, the button does not work. Underneath however, in green, it says computer, web and email are protected in green. It then says in red a PC restart is needed. I have tried restarting a few times and stil get lthe same messages.  Please can anyone help?

Hello Dave,
We will help you sort it out. Let me know the AVG program installed on your computer (AVG Antivirus Free or AVG Internet Security) and also share a screenshot of the error message to proceed further.
You can post the screenshot here on your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Regards,
Alok.
