Hello Lars.
You may experience a slower internet connection when using AVG Secure VPN. This is because a VPN encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server. Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.
Can it really by true, that AVG secure VPN seems to reduce the download time by a factor 5!

Lars, there should not be so much different in the internet speed.
If you are experiencing this issue, please try connecting to a VPN server at different location and verify.

I understand that, but can it really be true that a original download speed of 300 Mbps is reduced to 60-70 Mbps?? The VPN server is said to be located about 30 kms from here in Denmark??

Well, I have tried a number of different servers in different countriesw. They are all worse than the norrmal used by me: Copenhagen. The numbers for the original speed without VPN is 322 Mpbs and with VPN is81 Mpbs, I have in between made a reset of my router, which read somewhere could improve it a little. In any case the result for the AVG VPN is really bad.
