Hi Stephen, sorry to hear about that. I would request you to run AVG remover tool based on your OS (32-bit or 64-bit) to completely remove AVG and then re install. To determine whether your OS is a 32-bit or 64-bit, please click on this link. http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218
To download the remover tool, please click on this link: http://www.avg.com/utilities. Please refer this article to install AVG 2015. http://bit.ly/1DXPL5z Thank you.
Thanks but that's a really messy (and time consuming) way to get rid of a handful of registry keys. If there's no other alternative, I'll do it the next time there's a major AVG upgrade.
Hello Stephen. Since you have updated from the AVG 2014 to AVG 2015 you can find the traces of the AVG 2014 version on the registry files and removing the files might affect the performance of the program. And if you wish to continue with the removal of the files from the registry please use the AVG remover tool to remove the program.
AVG2014 upgraded to AVG2015 a few months ago however it left some AVG2014 keys in the registry and registry cleaner scans keep reporting them and trying to remove them. They are, quite rightly, highly security protected so how do I delete them? I'm sure I did it before with AVG9 and AVG10 but I cannot find the instructions now.
