Refund and Unsubscribing

Okay I made a request for a refund for an automatic payment made that I thought was cancelled. As soon as that was done I was told to wait 3 business days. So I wanted to cancel the subscription in the mean time to prevent further payment down the line. But when I went to the subscription page on my account it says I have no subscription. The account still holds the record of the transaction I would like to refund but it's saying I don't have a subscription to unsubscribe too. I want to know if this is normal since I am asking for a full refund. Are the AVG people going to cancel my subscription by themselves or do I still have to bother doing it? Please advice.
