Reinstallatonof AVG Antivirus

I'd already tried that (several times) and it didn't work.

However I solved that particular issue by going to Task Manager, finding the AVG installation was (supposedly) running, and stopping it. I then tried to rerun installation but it stopped with a message that I was not connected to the Internet, which was clearly incorrect.

The version of AVG antivirus that I was trying to run was the one that downloaded when I pressed the Download button on the email notifying me of my subscription renewal. So I logged in to My Account on AVG and downloaded the version from there. The AVG_Antivirus_nnn.exe file had a different nnn extension from the one I had been trying to run. It installed perfectly! Hope this will help others with a similar problem.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with AVG Antivirus. The issue might be because of previous old AVG traces. In this case, I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG. This will ensure that none of the previous traces of AVG are left on your computer and you have an updated version.
Please follow the instruction ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product ) to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool.
After the computer reboots, you can follow the instruction to download/install/activate AVG Antivirus (AVG Internet Security).

I have been trying to reinstall this program for which I have a current subscription.  However, when I try to do so I receive a message "Installation already in progress. Another AVG installation is already in progress. (Error code: Oxe001f921)"

Any help in getting back my protection would be gratefully received.
