Reinstalling AVG Antivirus and AVG VPN

I have a Macbooik Air and I dumped the icons for AVG antivirus and VPN into my waste basket which normally removes the program.

When I downloaded the free antivirus program from avg.com and tried to install the program I get an error message saying AVG already installed.  Please uninstall previous version first.

How do I uninstall so I can reinstall?  Icons are gone from "Finder"
