Hello.
I use AVG Internet Security.

For Remote Desktop access I use a different-from-default (3389) listening-port number.

Each time AVG updates, the port number I use (set in registry by RegEdit) seems to get reset to the 3389 default listening-port number and I have to reset it back to my own chosen port number.

Why does an update of AVG do this (assuming AVG is the culprit, but it does seem to happen with every AVG update) and is there anything that will prevent ot from happening? (It's easy to correct, as long as I'm at home at the time; if I'm away and dependent on my RDC access working it's a bit more of a problem!)

Thanks,

Fen.

Hello, again, Fen,

When you get a chance, could you please provide us with a screenshot of the particular registry key in RegEdit for this listening port?

This will help us in further investigation.

Thank you very much. Jovana

Hi,

You're misunderstanding - the problem is resolved for now - but will occur again when AVG next publishes an update, which will re-create the problem. Also, I am not using AVG free.

I am asking why updates of AVG seem to reset the RDC listening port to the 3398 default.

Thanks,

Fen.
