We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused. Please run AVG Clear tool and then run AVG Remover tool to remove AVG from your computer.
1 Use the link https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe to run the AVG Clear tool.
2 Open the AVG Clear tool, click Yes in the User Account control dialog.
3 Click No in the Windows safe mode dialog.
4 Select the installed version of AVG, click Uninstall, then click Restart computer.
Please run the AVG Remover tool by using the below instructions.
1 Download the AVG remover tool please click on this link:
http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
2 Run the downloaded tool and follow the instructions displayed on your screen.
3 Your computer will be restarted automatically.
After reboot, Open C drive and look for folder "AVG Remover" and delete it manually, also delete "AVG" folder in "Program files (x86)" in C Drive.

I had the free version of AVG Protection installed on my laptop. It was freezing the system and using all resources so I decided to remove it.
I could not remove it with control panel
I used AVG removal tool which removed the program from control panel but the AVGui.exe file still exists and tries to activate AVG on booting and ties up all system resources.
I have tried to reinstall and remove with AVG removal tool, and again with Revo.
I have tried using the Zen removal tool as well.
Nothing works. I still have AVG drivers in my system, the AVGui.exe *32 and AVGsvc.exe *32 show as processes in task manager.
AVG is using resources and preventing activation of Malwarebytes which must be done manually.
After booting I get the following error messages.
The exception breakpoint
A breakpoint has been reached. (x/80000003) occurred in the application at location 0x6740ccd7, click on ok to terminate the program
And then
AVG diagnosics
Following AVG processes failed: - avguix.exe
Would you like to send a report to AVG for analysis.
I would appreciate some help with this as it has taken a huge amount of time to try and resolve so far with no success.
