Removal of "search.safefinder.com" malware taking over my Browser etc

You will have to go searching through registry entries as removing extensions in Chrome or add-ons in Internet Explorer doesn't work.  Press Windows+R then type regedit.  The registry editor program then should run.  Click on "Edit" then Find.  In the find what box type "search.safefinder.com".  Delete the entry then click on "Find Next".  Keep deleting all the entries you find until it stops.  Reboot your computer and it should be gone.  Make sure you don't delete anything else as it could make your computer stop working.

Hello Burt, I  request you to uninstall all the unwanted & unknown programs which are listed in the program list in control panel. I also recommend you to disable the Search.safefinder.com add-on, and all the unknown / unwanted add-ons from your browser. Thank you.

There are no signs of this malware in my program listing to uninstall and the search through registry has come up with nothing.  There is a new addition to the "activity" of this malware as compared with the first time it appeared…now when I attempt to use my Bing search, it switches to "feed.snapdo.com…" with about a thousand character address in total and then it immediately switches to the "search.safefinder.com" address with the new search function.  I have tried many times through the "regedit" channel with no result whatsoever.  When I attempt a system restore, it will not complete, citing some problem in the files that prevents it.

Why is the AVG antispywear unable to ferret out this problem?  Am I misunderstanding something in all this?  My windows "Defender" is locked out, apparently by McAfee which shows on my desktop but I haven't been able to locate this in my program list for uninstall either.

Any further ideas or am I doing something wrong here?

I have somehow become "infrected" with the "search.safefinder.com" malware add-on which is taking over my Browser (Bing.com/ca) and all attempts to manually remove this problem have failed.  The AVG antivirus program doesn't recognize the problemit seems ??  What can I do to correct it?  (O/S is Windows 8.1 soon to upgrade to version 10)

Hello Burt. Sorry to hear that. Some adware programs unknowingly along with the installation of other programs. For your information no antivirus program is capable of providing you with 100% protection with this type of adware programs although AVG are always working 24/7. These adware programs should be removed manually. I would request you to try resetting your web browser once and you won't be getting this issue thereafter. One of the suggestion which I would like to give is to have a clear look at the installation of any programs so that you can avoid these additional programs getting installed. Thank you.
