Fixed now, Alok. Thanks for your assistance … Avast Free was somehow installed on my old computer! I saw something about Avast flash by but didn't pay any attention to it, and then forgot about it as there was no email from Avast saying an installation had taken place. With no Avast/AVG on this new laptop, I searched for any traces on the old computer (where I had the paid subscription version installed and which I had uninstalled), I discovered the Avast Free - I'm quite amazed that that could be done without doing the installation myself . I received a letter from Avast on Oct 27 "We Want you Back" and the installation date was Oct 28. I would not have installed it as I am using another product. Tried to keep the description short - hope it makes sense to you. Anyway, I uninstalled that and my gmail account, so far, is free of the Avast signature.
I also have the AVG anti virus signature on my emails on my Macbook pro. I have never had anything to do with AVG and do not have any of thier products. I have not been able to find the
"settings' to turn it off in spite of others saying go here, go there. How is it that you all of a sudden have something you didn't ask for? Not happy.
Anna,
Thank you for letting us know. If you need anything else, do not hesitate to let us know.
I purchased AVG for an old computer, so my gmail address was on file. I purchased a new laptop and did NOT install AVG. My AVG subscription for my old computer expired and I didn't renew. I deleted the application. However, recently an AVG signature started showing on my gmail. I didn't ask for it, and I don't want it. Since I have no AVG products installed on my machine, I can't find a method to delete it. Please advise how I can get rid of it.
Hi Kody,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern.
Please check that you have not installed any AVG Products on your computer. Could you also tell me if you're getting the Signature in your incoming or outgoing emails?
Not yet, Alan.

Hello Anna,
I'm sorry for delay in handling your case. I understand that you have not installed any AVG program on your computer. I request you to check if there is any AVG traces in your new computer, please go to C drive > program files (x86)> look for AVG traces and also share a screenshot/sample email with the AVG signature to assist you further. You can check the following link to see the instructions about taking the screenshot (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot). You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Best regards,
Alok.
