Remove JS/Heur virus from Resident Shield

Hello Jerry,
Thank you for contacting us with your concerns. Do you mean you are receiving a threat pop up from AVG reseident sheild regularly or you are saying that there is an entry regarding this virus in the AVG resident sheild detection history? If it is in the history or logs of AVG, means the threat is isolated and you need not to worry.

I use Windows 10 and have a JS/Heur virus in Resident Shield.

I did a scan in both the safe mode and the normal mode and the virus notice in Resident Shield remained.

  1. Is there another process to remove this virus?  In the past when I had a similar virus in Resident Shield, I was given a link to uninstall AVG and to reinstall.  As I remember I think that fixed that issue.  Please note, at this time I chose not to uninstall AVG from my Control Panel.  However, if someone tells me to uninstall from the Control Panel, I can give it a try.
  2. After scanning, AVG says “no threats detected.”  However, the virus was still listed in Resident Shield.  Does that mean I should not worry about this?  However, I would feel better if I could remove it; or, should I merely delete it from the listing in Resident Shield?
Thanks,
Jerry

You are most welcome, Jerry.
AntiVirus together with Resident Shield protect your computer continuously from all known types of viruses,
spyware, and malware in general (including so-called sleeping and non-active malware, i.e. malware that has
been downloaded but not yet activated).

Alan –
I mentioned I did a Safe Mode scan for my issue.  The summary of that scan listed 128 Found Infections. All other listings had 0 for them.  How do I interpret the 128 number?

Also, is there a simple way to attach a screenshot to this type of post?

Thanks,
Jerry

Alan

Per the Resident Shield answer, I will delete it from the listing and not worry about it (unless you have a comment).
Thanks for adding your input on finding my posts.  Following the previous post was not successful.

Thanks,
Jerry

Thanks for the quick response.  In my case, the entry in Resident Shield is a one time entry. So, as you said I can disregard it.  Therefore, I will delete it from the list.  What is the purpose of Resident Shield?  I confuse it with entries in the Vault.
Also, I have difficulty finding my original question and your answer on AVG.  What is best method to find my question when I first submit it and later when I try to find it?
Jerry

OK Jerry, No probs…

Yes, Jerry.
Create a screenshot as described in this article http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot . Then open this post to click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions to upload the screenshot.

Thanks for the reply.  I would not call this a "simple" process, but at least it does provide a method.

Jerry

You are most welcome.
If you provide the screenshot, we will be able to assist you better.
