Remove the free version of AVG Internet security

Hello Carole,
I understand that you want to remove AVG Free Antivirus and want to install AVG Internet Security for your computer protection. In this case, I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG Internet Security. I have the free version of internet security on my laptop and am trying to remove it with the AVG removal tool.  Every time I try to remove it, I get the following error message "General Error 0X0663".

I have checked to make sure there is no other antivirus software installed on my laptop and can find none even in the registry.  I have purchased AVG Internet Security, but cannot install it as the free version prevents me from doing so.

Can anyone tell me what that error code is and how to get the free version of internet security out so I can install the paid version and use the scheduling and other features.

https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe for the steps to download and run AVG Clear tool.

Note: When you are prompted to restart in safe mode, please click on "NO" and continue to uninstall AVG in normal mode.

Alok,
I have tried the removal tool and it stops when I get the error message noted above.  It will not proceed with the removal of the free version.  How do I deal with the error message?
