Removing and re-installing

Hello Colin,

We appreciate your efforts so far.

Please click here to run AVG Clear tool in order to remove the traces and click "No" when you get a prompt to run in Safe mode. Restart your PC and check if it has removed the files.

If files/folders of AVG still persist, please restart your PC in safe mode and try deleting folders manually. After restart, go to Run window (press windows key and R key simultaneously) and type the following comments to delete the folders manually.

1. Type “Temp” and press enter, remove all the files.
2. “%temp%” and remove all the files.
3. %appdata% - Remove all the AVG folders.
4. %programdata% - Open the AVG folder and remove the old files.
5. Type C: and press enter, delete AVG remover folder.

Please go to c: drive-> program files and delete the AVG files.

I have AVG anti virus and tool kit installed on two machines. One is fine. On the other, a Sony laptop, there are Program files installed for AVG, Antivirus, Framework, Setup, UiDll and Zen - all folders within a AVG folder.

None of these are listed in Windows uninstall!

I have run AVG-Remover.exe endlessly but not a single file has been removed. When I try to delete the files manually I am told I need permission from System or from SA to change these folders. 

How can I get rid of these files so that I can start again.

Generally I like the AVG products but these installation problems are becoming a nightmare.
