Removing AVG from MAC

I used the file send to me by AVG.  Had to use it 5 times before the download was accepted. On my computer. Now it works fine thanks;

I tried to install AVG Antivirus on my Mac.

But when I downloaded the file it says you have first  to uninstall a older version.
But searching my computer I do not find AVG anywhere. What do I do?
