You can alter the no. of PCs for your subscription, if you doesn't require 10.

I got AVG antivirus for 10 devices. The renewal cost has been advised to be of £74.99. I searched the net, and it seems that the cost from new is approx £50=
Why do I need to pay more for renewal than for a new license? 
I do have only two computers, and paying out of my ears is not really an option, these days…
