Have you registered the registration key that you bought from Amazon? If you haven't registered your AVG Ultimate subscription yet, then please visit this website and register the key with your email address.
And it is not required to uninstall AVG from your PC. You can just logout and login back again from AVG program to re-activate your AVG Ultimate with updated subscription period.
You can also refer to this article to know how to activate your AVG program.
And don't forget to do the activation on both AVG Internet Security and AVG PC TuneUp programs.
i have 2 months left on my avg subscription. I just bought the new AVG Ultimate for 2 years off Amazon. (cheaper) Do I have to remove AVG off of my computer before installing the new retail version? I was also told previously that I would not lose my existing two months as long as I use my same username and password

If yes, try it from another browser and check the status.
