Reoccurring theme with AVG taking unauthorized payments

We acknowledge your refund request and would like to clarify that, AVG will not charge without authorization.
To locate the charge, we have sent an email for you to provide the screenshot of PayPal email that shows the details about AVG charge along with the invoice ID.
Since you have raised a dispute, we request you to contact PayPal and cancel it. We will not be able to process refund, when the charge is under dispute status.
Once they have cancelled, a confirmation email will be sent. Take a screenshot of it and then share it through the email that we have sent now.

Hi,

Today I have noticed a payment for £74.99 has been taken from my PayPal account.  I have not authorised this and if it's an auto subscription renewal I would like a full refund please as I haven't used AVG for months nor to I attend to.

Reading the threads on here it seems like a common problem that you may want to resolve before you get some severe reputational damage.

I have also filed a case with PayPal to dispute this.
