Hi:
I just want to report what appears to be a bug with the latest version of the software that downloaded and installed itself on my machine the other night. I don't see a place to report bugs, so I'm posting here in the hopes that somebody from AVG will see it and forward to the right department.
I've got AVG Free version 1.113.2.50020. I have a Windows 10 Pro machine, version 1511, OS Build 10586.753. I use Mozilla Thunderbird for my email client, version 45.7.1.
Since the new version of AVG installed the other night, Thunderbird freezes and times out after the AVG "Scanning emails" window pops up when trying to download emails. Nothing will download. I tried several other potential solutions to no avail and finally tried disabling the email scanner in the AVG control panel and now everything downloads just fine. Since everything was working fine with the scanner before this latest version, I'm guessing the new version of AVG is the source of the issue.

Hello AVG Guru Alan:
Thank you for your snotty non-answer to the question. But, you see, this website is obviously screwed up. I'm guessing by the large number of "double postings" I see while trying to scan through and find my original post that a large number of people probably experienced the same problem that I did - which is after submitting my post the first time, I got a error message that implied that the post didn't go through. I thought maybe I forgot to click the "I'm not a robot" so I took the time to retype out post, made sure to click the "I'm not a robot" box and got the same error message again. So at that point, I got upset and gave up and had no idea either of the posts had actually gone through until I read my emails this morning and saw that got I very helpful reply from Customer Support (thank you Abirami) and your pissy little message. Actually, two pissy little messages from you.
So no, I didn't expect any faster response to my post. In fact based on the error messages, I didn't expect any response at all.
I hope you didn't get too worked up and get too much jizz on your keyboard from playing forum monkey.
