Dear All,

I am seeking advice on how to remove Jackyhillty.net from my system. I am using the latest version of Firefox and all other programs used in my attempts to remove it myself. I have Chrome installed but have not used it for fear it may become infected. I am limited in my computer skills.

My computer was infected with the Jackyhillty.net malware. AVG identifes the site as malware, but the scans fail to detect it on my computer. I have made several attempts to remove it myself which involves (in order chronology):

1) AVG Scan - Did not detect Jackyhillty related files
2) Spybot Search and Destroy Scan - Did not detect Jackyhillty related files
3) Registry search - Did not find any entries with the name Jackyhillty
4) Internet research (see below for more information)
4a) There were no Jackyhillty addon nor any new/suspicious addons
4b) I reinstalled Firefox (3 times) - All 3 attempts worked for ~10 minutes but the malware reinfected Firefox
4c) I installed Malwarebytes - Did not detect Jackyhillty related files
4d) I installed Spyhunter - This required 48 hours before it would do anything tangible. I removed this out of disgust.
5) Installed No Scripts and adblocker addons - To limit effect on my computer.

Internet research:
My research indicated Jackyhillty is a semi-legitimate site which sells adds and redirects the user to specific sites. Google searches indicate it may be installed as an addon (Point 4a) or directly affects the firefox.exe file (Point 4b). Nearly all the sites provided the same advice and promoted two programs Malwarebytes and Spyhunter. I downloaded these programs but they were ineffective (Points 4c and 4d).

I would appreciate any help on this matter. Apologies if this question has already been posted. I did conduct a brief search for any posts here.

Kind Regards,

Ravi
