Rescue disk unable to connect to the internat

I understand how something like this can really try your patience.
Could you please try out the following steps http://avgread.me/1YAHTz1 to run AVG Rescue CD and let us know if the issue persist. We appreciate your patience.

Cannot get onto internet from the linux rescue CD, but can from this windows 7. Using same settings (ip address, dns …) IF computer corrupted might not be able to use the definition files downloaded in Win 7, hence need access to them when using the rescue CD. Is there something different about defining the network connection in Linux versus Windows? Surely ip address etc the same?? DHCP automatic setup failed so enterded info using static option.

Thank you. This gave me the same file that i used originally:  avg_arl_cdi_all_120_150814a10442.iso from Download Free Antivirus Software for PC | AVG Virus Protection. Have not tried the USB version but doubt any difference re internet access. So yes, the issue persists.

Could you please try out the USB version and let us know whether the issue persist?
Please be informed that Linux is customizable in a way that Windows is not. For one, the user interface, while similar in concept, varies in detail from distribution to distribution.
