Hello Andrew,
Could you let us know if you're referring to the AVG Rescue Disk?
If yes, we'd like to inform you that the AVG Rescue Disk has been discontinued a few years ago.
Instead, you can try running an AVG Boot time scan if you suspect any threats on your computer.
Awaiting your response.
I've created a Rescue USB Stick and it loads as a boot stick fine. However if I use it a month later can the defs be updated online from the stick? Or do we have to create a new rescue stick each time we need an up to date one? This means one MUST have a working computer to create the stick. Hence the steps needed are
1) Boot from the stick
2) The stick/computer goes online
3) I then navigate somewhere, where?, to ensure the stick defs are current.
I've spent half an hour trying to find the answer, must be looking in the wrong places
Hello Brian,
Thank you for sharing your suggestion.
In regards to your concern, we've replied to your original post and forwarded to the appropriate team.
Thank you.
So why on earth can we still download the utility? I solved my problem by running the Rescue stick via a LAN cable instead of trying to update it with wifi. You have a perfectly usable product out there in the public domain that is discontinued?! Admittedly I downloaded it from a 3rd party site.
