AVG Internet Security 2014 scan revealed 1 threat on pc.
tcpip.sys, hooked import TDI.SYS TdiRegisterDeviceObject -> BMLoad.sys +0xD56
C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\BMLoad.sys
I have searched online and have found conflicting information regarding the status of this rootkit.
Daman Gajsler reported that he was notified by AVG that this error was added to the whitelist - AVG Forums >> Other Topics >> Virus Removal, Tools for Removing >> [SOLVED] Is This Rootkit A False Positive?
Is it safe to ignore?
Thank you.
In order to analyze it please provide us with GMER (http://kb.avg.com/articles/en_US/How_to/GMER-Scan-Result/) and AVG scan result export (http://http://kb.avg.com/articles/en_US/How_to/AVG-scan-result-export/).
Thanks
Also, if it is safe how do I go about getting AVG to ignore?
After more searching I have found that this file may be associated with ATT Communication Manager, which is installed on my laptop, and used frequently. How to I find out for sure that this is the case and whether or not I need to remove it?
