Rootkit: hidden file threat

I just recieved a similar Rootkit: hidden file threat after a deep scan similar to Michael Zorko's problem.

"I hit he button to resolve it but it remains after several tries.It is a high severity threat.

The massive glaring problem with the AVG support community is that instead of posting a public answer for people, you just email them personally every time, leaving the question unanswered for everyone else and negating the point of a support 'community' in the first place

My screen Shot is 2.4 MB. The max I can attach is 1MB. What do I do now!


This is the screen shot from my computer.

After calling the AVG Support line and discussing the issue with a support specialist it was recommended that I remove my copy of Microcosmic Office and reinstall it. Or I could buy a Premium support subscription!!
I did that and no help. I went into the folder that is noted on the screenshot(the title in incomplete on the screen) and deleted the Office files from that folder . Ran avg again and still there.


I attached the screen shot…  Any Ideas?

We will certainly look into this. Can you please provide me the screenshot [http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot] of the threat message with "See details" to check and assist further?

I did a deep scan and found  a Rootkit:hidden file. I hit he button to resolve it but it remains after several tries.It is a high severity threat.

That's a very vague answer. I've been to the page and then what??

Michael, thanks for the info. But we don't see any screenshots attached here. Please try to take a photocopy of the threat message to proceed further.
