Rootkits....running with no results so my scan keeps failing

I get notice that my outlook is out of date. Now my AVG cannot finish my security scan. How is this related? how can I fix it.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Please let me know what happens when you try to update AVG, if you receive any error message then please share a screenshot of the error message to assist you further.
