Hi,
I am a developer and I run Eclipse IDE with a number of plug-ins. I recently updated to a new version of eclipse and a new version of a specific visual designer plug-in, but it fails to run if I have AVG installed.
The Eclipse installation had no problems during install and I allowed the execution of the java runtime when I was prompted by AVG during the initial run of Eclipse.
However, as soon as my visual designer plug-in is started I get two errors:
1. (com.progress.ipccom.IPCException: Permission denied: listen)
The com, progress.ipcom is part of the visual designer plug-in
2. As soon as the visual designer needs to start, I get the following error: com.progress.ipccom.IPCException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 10.1.4.10:3335
The IP 10.1.4.10 is my local IP on the domain and the port 3335 is one of a range of possible ports that Eclipse uses to communicate to the Progress ABL plug-in.
I initiall tried to disable AVG to see if AVG was an issue, that didn't change and the error persisted. I then only disabled the firewall and still no luck.
I finally uninstalled AVG completely and I am able to run the plug-in successfully.
I still have 1 year left on my AVG license and I am hoping there is a way to overcome this issue to allow me to continue using AVG.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mark
