I have been running AVG Free for many years, and am happy with the product.
After the last upgrade to ZEN, I have been having problems.
As with all of the software, I set it to update manually so that when I turn my computer on, I don’t have to wait until everything updates before I can do anything. All I installed out of ZEN is the Antivirus, as with the previous versions I have used. I believe it is referred to as “protection.” I have set it to update manually (disabled auto update), but it still updates every time I turn the machine on.
And I keep getting popups to “Fix your performance” and “Improve Internet security” that take me out of whatever I was doing to tell me this. On one occasion (a game) I had to end it through Task Master and restart.
Can I stop both items from happening, or should I go back to a older version when the program performed as I want?
