Safari Mac Problem

Hello. This did not resolve.   First, the article that you link show how to provide exeptions for servers and URLs but not entire browsers. So I could not do that.  Plus I want Web shield to examine websites that I visit on Safari.  If there was an exception for the entire browser, wouldn't it defeat to purpose of Websheld to except the entire browser?  I uninstalled and reinstalled like you suggested but that did not resolve at all.  Right now I cannot use Safari for Mac at all unless I turn off Webshield.  There is some compatibilty issue wiht AVG and the latest Safari that Apple has released I suspect. Can you please check further internally and advise? Thank you.

Safari:  Version 14.0.1 (16610.2.11.51.8)
AVG Internet Security:  Version 19.7 (2afad9aab9aa); Virus Definition 20111602
Thanks for your help.

Hello Ron. Thank you for your patience and I apologize for the delayed response. My name is Shawn and I am writing to you on behalf of the AVG Senior Support team.

It seems you are experiencing a disruption with HTTPS scanning. I am going to suggest clearing cache and/or disable HTTPS in AVG settings, as follows:

- Enable Develop menu in safari - https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/use-the-developer-tools-in-the-develop-menu-sfri20948/mac.
- Close and reopen Safari
- In menu bar select Develop > Empty cache (screenshot attached)

Hello. I just installed the premium AVG Internet Security Antivirus.  When the webshield is activated, I am unable to open any webpages on Safari for Mac.  It works fine on Chrome for Mac.  It's weird that Safari does not work. If I turn off the AVG webshield then Safari works normal. Any suggestions to resolve?

Hello I have noticed one more thing.  If I go to a site in Safari that is https:// such as my bank, Safari works with the webshield on. However, if I go to any site that does not have https (such as the Kansas City newspaper) it it blocked in Safari.  Hopefully this helps narrow down the problem.

We'll certainly help you resolve this.
Could you confirm the version of macOS?

Thank you for the detailed information. We will forward your request to the concerned team and check on the same.

If the issue persists, to disable HTTPs as follows:

- Open AVG Internet Security > in menu bar select AVG Internet Security > Preferences > Shields > Web Shield
- Disable HTTPs connections and IPv6 (screenshot attached)

Good luck. Let us know how this works for you. Regards, Shawn
