Hello Kevin. I would like to let you know that your case is already escalated and I request you to wait until you hear back from the remote team. Thank you.

Hi,

I've been running AVG Internet security for a number of years currently on 2015 version. Until last week I had a programme which controls my DSLR cameras working beautifully with AVG protection turned on. Last week I went to use the programme out in the field i.e. off-line and the programme stalled at the splash screen and I couldn't figure out why. After a few days of talking with the software author we were both at a loss as to why the programme had stopped.

Final resort was a system restore and on Windows 10 I have to turn off the AVG protection before running the windows restore programme. While AVG protection was off and before the restore I thought I would just try the programme one more time and it worked !. So I cancelled the restore, re-enabled AVG protection and tried the programme again and it stalled again :frowning: Since then I've checked in AVG and the programme is in the 'allowed' group and further to that I've un-installed AVG and re-installed it to see if that cleared the conflict but AVG is still blocking it :frowning:

The camera programme is using the USB port to communicate with the camera and will normally work on-line and off-line but now only with AVG protection disabled.

Any clues how to resolve this problem would be gratefully accepted, there could even be a free beer in in for someone

best regards

Hi Kishore (great response time ty), I've added the programme folder to the exceptions list without a problem and got an error when adding the programme onto the firewall because it was already there (ps 2nd article needs to change as the Firewall settings are under Options rather than the Firewall tile)

Done a reboot to settle everything down but no change :frowning: I still need to disable AVG for the programme to run.

Any other thoughts?

regards
Kev

Hi Gulam, yes I've done everything suggested by AVG earlier in this thread and AVG have had 2 remote sessions with my laptop to look at the issue. At the end of the 2nd remote sesssion I was told the problem would be escalated to the Development Team for them to try to rectify the problem I haven't heard back from them to arrange a 3rd remote session.

Hi Komal,

AVG remover tool (64bit) used to fully remove AVG (several command prompt windows came up to delete the files). System rebooted and my program runs correctly.

AVG re-installed as per your instructions above, virus definitions updated and system rebooted, my program DOESN'T work until I disable AVG.

I went into AVG settings and added the program to Exceptions and also added it into the Firewall as an allowed program, rebooted the system. The program still DOESN'T run unless I disable AVG. This is unacceptable :frowning:
