Hello to all,
I am user of the Salomé French software. For Finite Element Analysis.

Please refer to https://www.salome-platform.org/

When starting the software I am obliged to stop AVG since it is blocking Salomé.

I found on a old blog the explanation :

This problem has been already reported, but we suspect this is a malfunction of the anti-virus software.

Indeed, SALOME platform implements client-server architecture using CORBA as a transport. In runtime, during the initialization, SALOME components establish connection via CORBA bus to each other using TCP/IP protocol, available free port is automatically searched starting from 2810. This is probably considered by the firewall or anti-virus software as virus attack.

SALOME binaires have been checked with the several different anti-virus softwares (latest versions are used in all cases), including the following:
- Symantec Endpoint Protection
- Anti-Virus Guard (AVG)
- Dr.Web CureIt
- ESET online scaner
- AVG Internet Security 2012

No any viruses have been found by these utilities.

As a conclusion of this article, they say that to solve the problem I have to add an exception for Salomé inside AVG. I tried in many way, To the main EXE, to the main BAT, to all EXE and BAT, to the entire folder where Salomé is, but I still get the problem. No start possible of Salomé if AVG is on. And even if I start Salomé with AVG off and when started I put AVG back on, then Salomé stops whitout any notice !

Could you please explain me how to turn around that problem please ? Please note also that is Salomé starts to look at the free port 2810 first time, each time you restart the free port number used is incresased by one... so far I am somewhere around 2870.

Thanks for your help.

Nicolas
