In this case, we suggest you to cancel the scan and check if the AVG Program is up to date and then initiate the scan and see if that improves the scan speed.

Turning PC off makes no difference, scan still running and still stalled at 2% and can't start a new scan
I run a scan before I switch off the PC every time and it's usually finished within less than five minutes, I started one last night and after thirty minutes it only got 1% in before I gave up, switched off PC and went to bed. Today it's still running and has only reached 2%
I'd normally contact AVG for support but they appear to only have the telephone option available
Any helpful replies welcome

If I press stop there appears to be no difference, it seems to have somehow hung at the beginning of the scan
