Scan Begins at 19% of Objects Scanned

My newly installed AVG Free 2015 version seems to begin its scan at 19% of objects already scanned.  Does that mean those 3,000 +/- objects have not been scanned at all, or have they been scanned so quickly that between the time I click Begin and when the bar progress screen appears, 19% of the objects have already been scanned?  I have Win XP Pro, and have been using AVG Free for years with no issues until now.  No other problems with my computer that I know about.

Any advice greatly appreciated.  Would rather not have to use another anti-virus product, since AVG Free has done a good job for me.

Hi Elizabeth,

Please do not worry as it is an usual behavior of AVG scan. Upon starting the scan, those 3000 objects are scanned quickly since the size of all those files might be lesser. Please feel free to contact us back for any further assistance.
