Scan completion?

I seem to be having difficulty in getting one key questioned answered.

When you run a scan should the dashboard window stay open and show the results of the scan even if nothing was found?

I have the latest version Version 17.2 (2ce7a4db3fac) and nothing has changed.
Also, I am not sure if you received the files I sent.

Hello Bill,
I really appreciate your efforts in resolving the issue. I request you to run a whole computer scan with  AVG Antivirus mac and check if it's detect the same  threats. if yes, then please help us with a screenshot of the detection page to assist  you better. You can check the following link to see the instructions about taking the screenshot (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201361).
Best regards,
Alok.

I did manage to run the scan and it isolated malware. However on subsequent tries the window shuts down with out letting me know if it just crashed or ran to completion and didn't find anything. I did the uninstall and the reinstall with the same results. Does this program let you know if a scan was completed successfully if nothing was found?
Thanks.
Original question:
Have iMac, Sierra 10.12.4, have AVG AntiVirus, Version 17.1 (beb83f3cd71), Virus databases: 170608-8, Last update June 8, 2017. When running and initial scan about half way through 2 threats were stated on the main dashboard. When hitting details screen said one threat was found. After completion of the scan the dashboard disappeared as did the task bar icon. When reopening the dash board nothing was in the Quarantine section and no details were provided about the threats found. Did the program crash or did the program determine there were no threats?

Hello Bill,

We have released a new version of AVG for Mac computers and that should fix this issue. Please update the AVG program in your computer to the version 17.2 and check if that fix the issue. If you face any difficulties, feel free to contact us.

Following your instructions doesn't work as library doesn't appear in the drop down. Would include the screen shot but it takes up the entire field. So I went to Go–>computer, Macintosh HD/Library/Logs/which has a AVGAntivirus folder with the following folders:User-added image

I'm not sure there are any because I am not sure that the scan completed as the dashboard closes when the scan is finished. The first time it did this (dashboard closed) it didn't quarantine any files even though early on it detected 2 malware files. The second time I ran it did quarantine a file and I erased that file. My problem is this program takes a long time to run so I just can't sit here and watch it. But when I return the dashboard is closed…so did it complete the scan or did it crash? That is what I am trying to determine

The emailed instructions are a bit lacking in detail.  I copied and pasted all of the files on the second sreenshot (daemon) hit answer and nothing happened. I then just copied and pasted the latest file that was generated after the scan ran to completion without finding malware and then the dashboard disappeared. I hit answer and a wheel appeared but it was not accepted. I then switch browsers and tried again with the same result.

Hello Bill,

I can understand your concern. Please be informed that the scan window should be open and show the scan results even if no threats were found. We have received the files you have sent.

I am sorry to hear that the issue still persists after installiing the latest version of AVG in your Mac computer. Please send us the screenshot of the AVG scan window, so I can escalate this case to the senior team.
